The first-ever Engaged Redbirds networking event connected students participating in the IDS 106 Career Choice course, the Dean of Students Office Leadership Education and Development programs, and University College’s TRIO Student Support Services with alumni who were actively involved in Registered Student Organizations. Held the hour before Career Services’ Career Chats career exploration program, students explored how student involvement can assist them with their career readiness and how to incorporate their experiences into their job search and career development. Fifteen students and six alumni participated in the event.

InstaCareer for Education Majors

InstaCareer for Education Majors was coordinated in collaboration with the College of Education to connect students with school district representatives for job-search strategies. Topics discussed included first impressions, researching employers, professional dress, pitching oneself to employers, and how to stay connected. Five school districts were represented with nine school administrators present.

International Student Career Series

Held in collaboration with International Student and Scholar Services, the three-part International Student Career Series provided international students guidelines in various professional areas to assist with their career development. Topics included job search timelines, career resources, and career strategies for landing a job in the United States from alumni who were international students while attending the University. Thirty-seven students participated in the series.
